Access Control
Decide which staff roles can see and change each part of the system, and who can switch to the admin side.
Roles and what they can do
Open Access Control under Settings. You'll see the list of roles in your church, from Head of Department up to Pastor.
- 1Pick a role to open its permissions.
- 2For each module — Dashboard, Resources, Events, Finance and so on — choose what the role can do: Enable, View, Edit or None.
- 3Save. Everyone with that role gets those permissions straight away.
Important: A role name used here must match a leadership role in Departments → Leadership Role. Create it there first if it's missing.
Assigning a role to a person
- 1Open Departments → Members and find the person.
- 2Add them to their department or group with their role, for example Head of Department, Senior Pastor or Accountant.
- 3Their access follows the role's permissions you set in Access Control.
Letting a member switch to the admin side
Every member signs in to the member portal. Only people you allow can switch to the admin side to do staff work.
- 1Open the person's member profile.
- 2Turn on the Admin access toggle and save.
- 3They now see a Switch button in their portal and can move between the member and admin sides.
Important: The admin access toggle is off by default — without it, a member can't switch to admin tasks.
Tip: Give people only what they need. Finance pages should stay with the finance team.
What the person sees
When someone with admin access signs in, their portal shows a Switch to Admin button. Their admin menu shows only the modules their role allows — everything else is hidden.
